Los Angeles, California Metro Area Top 5 Home Sales: Brentwood Estate Heads the Week at $21.14 Million
Designer Kelly Wearstler reimagined the 2001 house at 12921 Marlboro St, and its sale led the week’s five highest-priced reported Los Angeles home sales, which combined for $72.41 million. David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties represented the listing side of that No. 1 sale and of the No. 5 sale, another Brentwood residence on South Carmelina Avenue.
The five sales span Brentwood, Hidden Hills, Laguna Beach and Newport Beach, and the homes on this week’s list were built between 2001 and 2016. A custom estate in Hidden Hills holds the No. 2 spot, while Laguna Beach and Newport Beach fill the No. 3 and No. 4 positions in this edition of RealtyWire’s Top 5 home sales for the metro.
A walled and gated Modern Traditional estate at 12921 Marlboro St in Brentwood Park closed on September 8, 2026, for $21,145,000, the top price among the week’s reported sales in the Los Angeles metro area. Built in 2001, the residence has five bedrooms, nine baths and a reported 9,710 square feet on a quiet street south of Sunset, close to the Brentwood Country Mart.
Listing materials identify Thomas Proctor as the architect of the original house and Kelly Wearstler as the designer who later reimagined it, and they note that the home has appeared on the cover of Vogue. The house recently went through a complete top-to-bottom renovation. Formal entertaining rooms sit alongside a great room that joins the kitchen, a breakfast area, a family room and a playroom or den, which opens to an outdoor living room with a fireplace. The main house holds five bedroom suites, among them an owner’s suite with paneled walls, a fireplace and two walk-in closets. An upstairs family room or office, a movie theater, two laundry rooms, a full smart-house system, security cameras, extensive storage and an oversized three-car garage round out the features.
The house is set back from the street amid gardens that surround a grassy yard, a pool, a spa and patios. A detached building serves as a guest house, gym and poolside cabana, with its own fireplace and bar. The property previously changed hands for $14,476,000 in 2019.
The $21.14 million sale ranked No. 1 in RealtyWire’s Los Angeles Metro Area Top 5 for the week ending September 13, 2026. David Offer of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices California Properties was the listing agent. Michelle Barrett of Compass represented the buyer. Offer also represented the listing side of the No. 5 sale on this week’s list.
